An Intimate October Wedding at Wakefield Mill | Quebec Photographer

Golden leaves, the soothing sound of MacLaren Falls, and a cozy, intimate setting set the stage for Kristine and Jamie’s fall wedding at Wakefield Mill. This intimate Wakefield Mill wedding brought together the couple’s closest family and friends, creating a space full of warmth, laughter, and heartfelt connection.

Getting Ready at Wakefield Mill

Jamie met me by the water with his brothers and father for a few pre-wedding portraits while Kristine finished getting ready. The setting felt calm, and the time with his family added meaning to the morning.

Quiet Moments Before the Ceremony

Afterward, I joined Kristine in her room to capture the final moments before she stepped into her dress.

Although Jamie and Kristine chose not to see each other before the ceremony, they wanted a quiet moment together. They stood on opposite sides of the door in Kristine’s room and held hands. That simple gesture helped steady their nerves and brought a sense of calm before the day unfolded.

Kristine also shared a first look with her friends. The room quickly filled with emotion, wide smiles, and a few happy tears.

An Intimate Ceremony in the Woods

Kristine and Jamie exchanged vows surrounded by red and golden leaves, with the steady sound of MacLaren Falls in the background. The setting felt calm and deeply personal. Sunlight filtered through the trees and settled gently over their guests.

Kristine walked down the aisle on her own. Halfway through, Jamie stepped forward to meet her. They continued together, hand in hand. Emotion filled his face as she approached. He didn’t try to hide it.

Their ceremony felt sincere and grounded. Every guest stood close enough to witness each expression and every quiet laugh. The small guest count made the moment feel connected.

Wakefield Mill suits smaller weddings beautifully. The trees, water, and stone buildings create natural variety without needing to travel. The space feels intentional rather than overwhelming.

Champagne and Celebration Beneath the Autumn Leaves

After the ceremony, Kristine and Jamie led their guests through the trees to a champagne tower set in a woodland clearing.

Guests gathered around the couple and raised their glasses for the newlyweds. Glasses clinked, and cheers echoed between the trees. The red and gold foliage created a vibrant backdrop that felt both celebratory and intimate.

It was joyful without being overwhelming — a perfect reflection of their Wakefield Mill wedding.

Portraits in October Light

While guests enjoyed the cocktail hour, we walked back to the secluded area by the river for family portraits. After Kristine and Jaime explored the property for portraits with me. The soft late-afternoon October light filtered through the forest paths.

Within minutes, we moved between natural and architectural backdrops. That versatility makes Wakefield Mill weddings especially seamless.

A Cozy Reception to Close the Day

Dinner felt like a beautifully hosted gathering among close friends. Speeches were heartfelt and often hilarious. Guests leaned in, raised their glasses, and celebrated openly.

The evening unfolded without pressure or performance. Conversation, laughter, and connection carried it forward — the ending that suits an intimate wedding perfectly.
