About Éva Hadházy

Photography is inseparable from memory, history, and time. A wedding is the first chapter of a shared life. I am an Ottawa wedding photographer specializing in intimate and destination weddings. I photograph weddings with calm observation and gentle guidance, capturing moments as they naturally unfold.

Photography documents memories, emotions and stories that will be passed down through generations. My style is consistent, emotionally aware, and centered on people, family, and genuine connection. I also spend time caring for trees and vines on my family’s estate in Europe. that same attention - patience, timing, and respect for natural rhythm - guides how I photograph weddings. On your wedding day, I work with quiet observation and thoughtful anticipation, capturing moments as they naturally unfold while guiding key shots when needed.

Since 2007, I’ve photographed weddings across Canada, the U.S., the Caribbean, and Europe. With over 450 weddings captured, I have extensive experience in both documentary wedding photography in Ottawa and destination wedding photography. I am proud to have been a preferred photographer since 2009 at Château Montebello, capturing weddings in every season and creating a visual legacy of this iconic venue. My couples value emotional depth, storytelling, and the layers of their wedding day.

My formal education in film photography gives me a strong foundation in technical skill and visual storytelling. My studies in history deepen my understanding of memory, heritage, and the significance of preserving stories through images. Together, these disciplines inform my calm, documentary approach, helping me capture weddings as meaningful chapters in each couple’s personal history.

At the top of this page is a photograph from my great-great-grandparents’ wedding. Over a century old, it’s imperfect and grainy, yet deeply alive. It’s a reminder of why this work matters: weddings are part of history, and photographs preserve the emotions and stories that will be passed down.
